The Maddawalker Knee Walker, model H70412, is a knee scooter designed to encourage children 2 to 5 years old to gain mobility by walking on their knees to facilitate a transition from crawling to walking. The device may aid the development of a child's hip and trunk musculature by stabilizing the hips and maintaining proper trunk alignment. The device consists of two separate knee scooters joined by a locking roller and track to provide a smooth alternating forward movement. Once in position, the child moves his or her legs in a walking motion which advances the individual platforms a maximum of 3.25 inches. Each platform rolls forward, but cannot reverse. The horizontal platforms are foam rubber lined with denim-covered foam cushions. A 5-inch wide denim strap supports the child in the kneeling position with the upper torso and pelvic region aligned straight up (90-degree mid-line). The vinyl hand grips provide two positions for hand placement and adjust vertically by 3 inches. Front casters swivel for steering. DIMENSIONS: 15 x 16 x 22.5 inches. WEIGHT: Approximately 16.5 pounds.
