PA State Licensed provider of outpatient mental health treatment services in Berks County for children, teens, young adults, adults, seniors, as well as couples and families. Services include: psychiatric evaluative services, ongoing medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, couples' therapy, group therapy, and mental health intensive outpatient programming (IOP). Berkshire Psychiatric is a licensed provider of school based outpatient services within Exeter and Conrad Weiser School Districts. Their prescribers offer med management and evaluative services for many local agencies on a contracted basis, and likewise, our physicians/physician extenders work in local hospitals such as St. Joe's and Haven to ensure adequate psychiatric care is available to those in need of inpatient or evaluative services.

  • Eligibility Requirements:Professionals will assess for eligibility during your first appointment. Most individuals meet requirements to receive outpatient services.Both 1 & 2 below must be met:1. A mental health professional determines that the outpatient level of care is appropriate and there is the potential for the person to benefit from outpatient care. The person must meet at least one of the following condition elements:* The person has a psychiatric illness exhibited by reduced levels of functioning and/or subjective distress in response to an acute precipitating event; or* The person is exhibiting signs or symptoms of a psychiatric illness, associated with reduced levels of functioning and/or subjective distress; or* The person has a history of psychiatric illness and presents in remission or with a residual state of a psychiatric illness, and without treatment there is significant potential for serious regression,and2. A comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, including an assessment of the psychiatric, medical, psychological, social, vocational and educational factors important to the person, is conducted.
