State lawmakers to hold mental health town hall meeting Saturday in Longmont

Feb. 6--Colorado state lawmakers and their guests will focus on mental heath policies during a public Saturday morning town hall meeting in Longmont.

State Rep. Jonathan Singer, D-Longmont, Rep. Sonya Jaquez Lewis, D-Longmont area, and Sen. Mike Foote, D-Lafayette, have announced that they will be joined by representatives of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Boulder County Mental Health Partners, Supporting Action for Mental Health, and the Longmont Police Department.

The lawmakers and their guests will discuss current mental health problems facing Colorado at the state and local levels, legislation being proposed this year to improve access to treatment, and resources available to those who need help, according to Singer's staff.

The town hall will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Longmont Public Library, 409 Fourth Ave., Longmont.
