BRIEF: Veterans Affairs seeks Gulf War participants for sleep study
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - 7/17/2017
July 17--A Veterans Affairs study is seeking Gulf War veterans who have trouble falling or staying asleep for a test of phone-based therapy.
Eligible participants can receive up to $435 compensation. The purpose of the San Francisco-based study is to see whether helping Gulf War veterans sleep better will help with symptoms of other Gulf War illnesses.
The non-medication treatment seeks to change sleeping habits and misconceptions about insomnia. Participation involves a screening interview, self-report questionnaires, eight weekly cognitive behavioral therapy sessions by phone and tracking sleep habits in a diary.
